Detail of the vertical axis of the fast-slewing gimbal in a LIDAR chassis I designed and built. The steel cable is fixed to the chassis and is wound once around the threads of a screw fixed to the shaft of a brushless motor, which moves with the gimbal. Performance exceeded all specifications.
