A portable digital microscope whose implementation I supervised. The optical layout and design of the field flattener implementation is mine. At the lower right of the assembly you can see the ultra-thin XY stage design: a ferromagnetic steel plate houses two pinions onto which rides a magnetized slide holder, thus achieving XY translation of the slide in a thickness about 10 mm. After an initial evaluation period in the field, the customer has placed an order for additional units.
